A world without wonder

Back in high school I excelled at history and English, but in math and science-not so much. I was always an avid reader of epic fantasy novels, and I always wished I could go on an incredible journey to magical lands.
Somehow Montreal-Canada, Burlington-Vermont, Manchester- New Hampshire, Lowell-Massachusetts, and a few other less notable places don’t rate as “magical lands” to me. At least in Montreal people spoke French, which I could at least pretend was Elvish or something. My point being this, even now at age 33 I still want to go see incredible things- and they are out there.
I don’t know about anybody else, but the reason I hated math and science was because they destroy mystery, they explain everything. I would still be perfectly fine if I thought thunder & lightning were the God’s anger unleashed. That works for me, because honestly I don’t want to know everything. I don’t want to be so educated and enlightened that nothing can still trigger a primal awe in me. That’s like death to me, a world without wonder is no world for me.
This is why I think I have always gravitated towards the occult or paranormal stuff-because you can’t explain it all away. There is no mathematical equasion to simply prove or disprove life after death. Science being science has disproved many things that were once thought to be paranormal, but I am okay with that. You know why? Because there’s still many things science hasn’t disproved, and you just know that must piss science off! But that narrow area my friends is where the wonder lives! So until that changes you will always find me here….

Expansion agenda

Hey what’s up everybody? How y’all doing this fine Saturday afternoon? Forgive my tardiness in blogging, had my daughter Brooklynn for the past 4 days so we were having some quality time. =)
So I have finally found E.N.E.M.I. a sponsor-which I think is very cool. Downshift Apparel a local clothing company stepped up and said “let’s do it!” Now I ended up having a discussion with a friend the other day as to what I meant by “we got sponsored” so let me explain my idea of sponsorship here.
I am not looking for money people, I am not a parasite, all I am interested in is getting our name out there-so we can try to help people. So I saw Downshift Apparel and I spoke with their founder, they are a young local company-just like E.N.E.M.I. Now what we have to offer each other is our fanbase-and I don’t say fanbase like we are celebrities or any of that shit, I simply mean supporters. They have a website and a fb page, we have that and Twitter, YouTube,  and I am here at the Paresistance. So we have different appeal to different demographics-they are car orientated and we are paranormal orientated-and there are people into both. BAM! There is the crossover point where both sides can gain.
Hell all I’m gonna do is wear their shirts-which are really badass anyway-and help promote them. Perhaps real “sponsoring” involves money or equipment or whatever, but that’s not what this is about. Of course… anytime Monster wants to reconsider the way they shit on our proposal for them to sponsor us-you can call me. 😉 unless I start drinking some other energy drink…snooze you lose people.

Presentation…

Here’s a random thought that has popped into my head over the past 3 days: “Always present yourself as what you really are.”
It had been a few months since I had to contact a potential client, and I’ve done it twice now in 3 days. Which is why I am so glad that I always keep it real, I never present myself or E.N.E.M.I. as anything more than we are. That is a fact.
I don’t “pad my stats” if you know what I mean, I don’t claim tons of investigations or years and years of experience to impress people. I’m honest. My life and paranormal “career” are matters of public record-Google me sometime- CJ Moschetto it’s all right there for you. I don’t guarantee that we can help the client, I always say “we will do our best to get you some answers and help you out.” Since I am not a para-scumbag I can’t promise “results” or evidence…because that just isn’t realistic.
At the very least the fact that people have somebody who will listen to them is comforting to them. They can openly admit their fears and experiences without any fear of judgement. Even if that is as far as it goes, even if they decide they don’t want an actual investigation-we still helped. We still comforted them. They may sleep a little better because of us. That is what I call a victory people, that is what this is all about.

#parahustle

Now if you’ve been a fan of the E.N.E.M.I. Facebook page, or you’ve been following us on Twitter @E_N_E_M_I  chances are you have seen my hashtag #parahustle a bunch of times… but do you know the theory behind it or what it means? Perhaps you don’t even care or want to know what it means? Hahaha but if that is the case then you are screwed because I’m going to explain it anyway! It’s my blog I’ll do what I want with it! =p
From day one when I stepped into the paranormal community, I have brought a certain type of…..”hood”… mentality to how I approach things and how I operate. I know about the streets people, and I spent half my life on the wrong side of the tracks if you know what I mean-so the mentality is ingrained in me. When your on the streets you do what you have to do in order to survive, you have to “hustle” for the things you need. Hustle never sleeps because money never sleeps, your hustle has to be constant….sort of like how a shark has to stay in motion or it will drown. Did you know that about sharks? haha I am just a wealth of knowledge today!
So despite how easy it looks on Ghost Hunters, or Ghost Adventures, or Paranormal State, or whatever fabricated paranormal show you choose to watch-in reality things are not that simple. There is so much stuff and work that goes on behind the scenes that people may not even be aware of, especially if your a small team without a TV show or any sort of name recognition…people do not just throw their doors open and welcome you in. If I knocked on somebody’s door to inquire about investigating their home they would take one look at me and think they were about to be robbed and murdered, I just have that look about me I guess….
So how do you get your team’s name out there? Damned if I know, but here is what I have done for E.N.E.M.I. : Social media-we have a Facebook page, a Twitter account, a YouTube channel, we now have an actual website as well, I used to make flyers and hang them around the city, we have business cards, we have nice professional posters now, T-shirts, hats, I network like crazy with teams all over the world, I did almost 20 interviews last year on various paranormal shows, anything I can do to put E.N.E.M.I.’s name out there I will do, usually taking a huge hit in my wallet for my efforts. $80 for business cards, $50 for our posters, $100 on hats, $750 for 125 T-shirts, Danielle just spent almost $200 to get our website up and running-so that is over $1,000 just to let people know we exist in the hopes that they will call us if they ever have some paranormal problems….are you getting the point here?
All that work just to “market” your team, and I have about $1,000 in equipment, this sure as hell isn’t a cheap field to be involved in! Since we are not douchebag parasites we never charge a client-EVER. Hell there is another hit to the wallet-you want to investigate somewhere your gonna need gas to get there aren’t you? Add in all the time spent researching locations, making phonecalls, sending emails to different locations, trying to organize fund raisers to help people in the community, making more phonecalls, getting rejected, sending more emails, getting rejection emails, making more phonecalls, getting laughed at by people, etc… you ever seen all that shit on TV? Of course not people because the shows are “entertainment” first, and actual paranormal investigating a distant second. Everything I have mentioned…that is the heart of #parahustle, no matter what we keep working and we keep grinding, and we display more passion and dedication than most people in the field. That people is the theory of #parahustle…this is the reality of being a paranormal team. Are you up for it? We’ll see….
